assign list contents to all folders

How do i do this without going into each folder on the computer and right click - view - list..?

i'm on windoze xp home...i did once figure it out years ago but i cant remember what to do..

Open a directory/folder. Make sure you at least have the text navigation visible at the top of the folder.

From the navigation at the top, set your view to "list."

Now select "Tools->Folder Options."

Frontenbringen the View tab. :-)

You should see a button labeled "Apply to all folders" above which is the following text:

You can apply the view (such as Details or Tiles) that you are using for this folder to all folders.

It's a bit disconnected because you're setting "List" before opening this dialogue, but when you read the label it starts to make sense.
