i am still looking around for a new computer, and would like peoples opinions on this computer, if its good value or know of any others that are cheaper and better etc...

I was gonna say it looks ok until I realise it's only the base unit, no keyboard, mouse, screen or speakers.

It's budget spec, SiS mainboard and low end ATI with shared graphics.

Personally, I could build that system with a legal Vista license (or XP if you want it to work) for less than £200.

hmm..ok..

I thought it looked half decent, certainly alot better than my current computer which is probably about stone age compared to that one..and i wouldn't want vista.

Is there any hidden place in the universe (well..uk) that does decent computers for a cheap price?

Seems like theres too many places to choose from, and the specs i want are all too expensive. The ones that are in my price range are all too similiar to this current one i have.

What are peoples opinions on HP compaq's and dells?

Anything branded will be too expensive if you ask me!

Buy the bits and build youself! I could recommend a website if you sticky me but can't post it here.
