Hi all,

Is there a such thing in america that we have here in the uk, a recorded type delivery? Where, when you send something via snail mail, it needs to be signed for at the other end by the person recieving the parcel or letter? So you know its definatly been sent and recieved by the person? If so, how much is it to send a letter to america from the uk using this method?

:)

Signature Confirmation: [usps.com ]

It looks like you might be able to find specific rates here: [pe.usps.gov ]

if you are asking if such a service is available from a uk post office, then the answer is that there is a service called "international signed for"

however i would read carefully the small print regarding that service as i think you will be disappointed.

For business or govt agencies, certified/return receipt is sufficient. For individuals, I send both certified/return receipt AND regular first class. ;)

topr8 - yeah, thats the thing i was looking for.

Why is it a bad idea? Is it so expensive its better to book a plane and deliver the letter yourself?
