i'm looking to get a new pc, and it seems vista is unfortunatly all the rage nowadays.

is it possible to install my current version of xp on this machine onto a new pc?

:)

Over in Australia, you can pay a bit extra when you buy your new computer, and you'll be upgraded to xp. Worth checking if they do the same where you are.

The problems with Vista are greatly overblown in my experience. I've got it on a laptop and the thing has yet to BSOD or hit any other glitch. Setting up the machine a network is a breeze (easier than XP).

My only comment is that it seems to run a bit slower than my XP machine, but then again I'm comparing a Dell laptop to a desktop I built myself.

Dell sells brand new machines with XP installed.
