What's with Yahoo! Mail Spam filter?

This last week, it's been running on jet fuel

I've had the occasional false positive from Y! spam filter before but just this last week, the filter has dropped in the Bulk Mail folder more than thirty emails I would normally be happy to see in my inbox - including circulars I regularly subscribe to and emails from friends who wondered why I hadn't got back to them. (That's actually how I found the problem in the first place).

None of these emails are being sent from unfamilar addresses, so I'm left concluding that what Y! Mail definitely didn't consider spam two weeks ago, it now definitely considers spam.

This isn't a small algo change: Just now, while waiting for a flight confirmation email, I decided to check the bulk mail folder, just in case. Guess where I found the flight confirmation? (It's from one of the best known airlines in Europe - how does it end up in the spam folder?!)

At this point I'm thinking that one of the levers at Y! central has been whacked up WAY too high. What gives? Anyone else seeing this?

I don't normally check my bulk, neither do I use yahoo mails for serious emails anymore, but I see the opposite of what you mentioned on the past few weeks. I received more spam emails in my inbox than I ever did in the past.

I just received a couple of them while typing this :)

Well something is definitely up the creek with Y! Mail. I can't get the search to work properly either.
