Must have 30 ancient ones around the house and in a shoe box I set up last year specifically to store--perhaps for centuries-- orphaned cubes. Most went to old kids' toys or game systems. Only markings are the names of obscure Korean (surely from the evil North side of the border) or Chinese electronic manufacturers. Each has a unique voltage, current, polarity, and pin configuration/size.

Why in the heck can't these things carry a useful label so they can latter be reunited with the gizmo they power?

How about just a space for a label on it where you could write on it what it went with? Nooooooo. They are black, slick. Tape doesn't stick to it, nothing does.

And, while we're on the subject--do they create a new power-charger cord for every blessed new cellphone?

> little shoebox

I had one for years. After throwing out several that were clearly good, we started a new fam and office policy.

Every new power supply that comes into the house/office gets labeled as it comes out of the box. No exceptions. I bought several of those handheld labelers put labels on everything now (even cords).

Please read So Long and Thanks for All the Fish. It is a compilation of Douglas Adams' work that remained on this computer after his death.

In this book there is a **HILARIOUS** story about the various dongles and widgets that confuse and frustrate our lives. Anyone that has battled the Dongle Battle will love that story.

Me? I'm an RC hobbyist. I literally have drawers and drawers full of these stupid things! Being in this hobby has trained me on the proper usage of a voltmeter - I don't need no steenkeen labelz. :-)

But of course, otherwise they wouldn't be able to patent the plug on the phone side so you can only buy replacement at 10X it's value through them.
