I suggest:
check out the PHP tutorial at W3Schools,
Then buy the "PHP Cookbook" from O'Reilly. It's worth the $.
Then everything else you need can be got from php.net [php.net] and the kind folks in the WebmasterWorld PHP Forum [webmasterworld.com].
