For over 120 years the job of painting the colossal Forth railway bridge has famously been a never-ending task.

So much steel is involved in the 1.5-mile long rail bridge over the Firth of Forth that, the legend goes, by the time the painters finish, they need to start over again at the other end.

Now, however, a date has been set for completion -- 2012.

About time too.

120 years, indeed.

A couple of years ago, my two housemates and I finished painting our kitchen in about four hours.

If the Forth Bridge has taken 120 years so far, how long will the Fifth Bridge take?

Especially if they were using those brushes used for painting scale models. :)

Coincidentally, the end of time according to the Aztec calendar.

>>>Coincidentally, the end of time according to the Aztec calendar.

I think it's the Mayan calendar, which has had meaningful coincidences in the past. So if that's an indication of future accuracy for another coincidental incident, then you may want to consider getting your hoohas out before then.

How does a Mayan apocalypse tie in with a bridge in Scotland? Hmm... Are there any Google datacenters nearby?
