Banned

I've been banned from a forum I use...

....quite regularly. The board administrator - a good friend - hasn't banned me. It's all a bit of a mystery and I'm a bit uncertain as to what to do next.

All suggestions to put it right will be welcomed.

Yes, I've spoken to her and she assures me she hasn't banned me.

Well can you ask if if you are actually marked as banned in the system?

Maybe she didn't ban you but someone else with the power to ban...did so.

How do you know that you've been banned? Is there a sign that reads "You've been banned"? Perhaps you are merely blocked, and unable to access the forum. Have you cleared your cookies and cleaned up your temporary internet files?

ummm, were you not the same person asking about an IP Address a few days ago?

I am guessing the two issues are related.

Anyways, sometimes with forums you need to delete the cookie and then try to login again.

I am that same person. I had a bit of bother on one forum and was banned from there.(Difference of opinion). Now it seems I am banned from another one, which I am assured, no one has actually banned me from.

I know I'm banned because when I try to access the site, the first page that comes up is 'you are banned'. I can't get past it to log-in.

I've done the clean-up and deleted cookies but it's still the same.

Could it be that someone is just trying to cause trouble?

I've been banned from a few forums. Sometimes you can beg your way back in. Usually I just move on though...

The mod is the only person that can help you out. It appears that the mod doesn't want to explain their actions to you.

There is only 1 forum on the internet I am banned from, for political reasons. (they dont like to hear a contrary opinion)

Anyways, despite telling me twice in emails that I am "unbanned" and welcome back, I have never been able to log back in after repeated tries. I am thinking this person gets a kick out of me trying to login and failing.

Oh ya, me too.

The board I am talking about constantly boasts about freedom and democracy, then when I have an opinion they dont like to hear .... they ban me. It was not an extreme position either, in fact its was right done the middle of the road of the political spectrum.

Oh well, I dont miss it.
