I am looking for an web based system so that our sales people can check to see what appointments have been set for them each day by our telemarketers. They need to be able to update each appt with it's status. And management wants to be able to check the status of all appointments and get reports.

Any ideas if there is something out there that will work, like Weboffice, etc? Or whether something would have to be coded?

If you're looking for something simple why not just use Google Calendar?

I have looked at Google Calendar and even the whole Google Apps package. I'm even coressponding with the developers. But as far as I can tell right now - it's too simple. It won't let me indicate whether the appointment was kept or a no show, whether it was sold. And management can't get any reports that consolidate ALL the salespeople's appts.

It would be kind of nice if Google could link the Calendar to Google Docs...

Overall it shouldn't be too hard to create a simple CMS in PHP that allows user and administration logins for employees to log in to to update their personal appointment calendars...but otherwise I don't know of any other Calendar/CMS solutions.

Good luck!

Actually Google has linked those together in their Google Apps program. Just FYI you can check it out at www.google.com/a/

I sat through a rather boring PowerPoint presentation regarding some software called MeetingMaker that one of their reps was trying to get us to sell - not our sort of thing at all, but the guy was a friend of one of our guys and wangled the appointment.

I don't know nearly enough to endorse it, or even if it meets all your requirements, but it seemed to be the sort of thing you are after.

I know of a lot of great software programs that will do what I want. But I have to have it as web based because of the nature of this business. All of the sales people are independent contractors and work from home.
