seriously though the only "credible by way of logo" path would be the google adwords professional program and yahoo embassador (sp)...
i think once you pass those you are entitled to use the logos that come with those designations...
couple that with client testimonials attesting to the wonders you do for them with respect to sem/seo...
think of this though... the first time a potential client gets a second opinion from an seo firm, that firm is certainly going to discredit your certification as there is no governing body for search marketing...
This site and others are **excellent** resources for learning SEO - the problem is, the gems are often provided out of sequence, and doesn't put the "big picture" together for someone in a logical sense. Eventually, it all falls into place by osmosis, but it would indeed be nice to see some logical progression in an affordable basic online course.
No certifications, just the groundwork.

Make sure you own website has a Page Rank of at least 4, PR4 if you want online advertisers like myself to even hire you. Even then, you still have to rank high for at least the keyphrase "SEO Company".
Don't spend any money and do your own SEO/website work. SEO experts are SEO experts because they put in serious work.
Bottom line. No short cuts friend when it comes to SEO and web marketing. I have spent years learning SEO and still learning.
Best place to learn is from experienced marketers on SEO/Webmaster forums like this. regards, osagie irowa.
