Wife is sick. I opened the blinds so she could see out, went outside and set off some sparklers for her. That's the best I could do.

But I wish we had a sensible calendar where the new year coincided with the start of spring rather than in mid winter!

Feeling slightly hungover - did not get to bed till 5am this morning.
It's now about 16.10 and we are about to start again with the new year's day dinner, lentil soup, a guid Scottish steak pie and all the trimmings and more drinking!
