Did you make it over the pond to get the Led out?

I would have just posted on this thread

[webmasterworld.com...]

But it is locked now.

The show was totally awesome. Led Zeppelin played for over two hours, and then had two encores.

Robert Plant, was excelent however a few songs were in a lower key, as he can't hit the hight notes like he did in his 20's, but that is no complaint. This did make no-quarter sound more like black sabath, but whos complaning.

Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones were perfect. Its like they never had a 27 year break.

And you could tell that Jason Bonham is from the same genetic stock as his father. If you closed your eyes, you would not be able to tell Jason from John's playing style.

The whole trip was surreal.

When we were in London, we dropped in at the hard rock cafe, not knowing it was the orginal. We dropped in next door at the hard rock vault. When the manager saw that we were from Canada to see Led Zeppelin, they allowed us to pick up Jimmy Hendrix flying V guitar (insured value 3 million pounds).

Heading back to South London by train, we passed by the Battersea Power Plant (cover of the pink floyd animals album). And over the plant, was a flying pig, i couldn't believe my eyes. (apparently it was a promo for the simpsons movie dvd release, and this was the first time a pig has flown over battersea in thirty years).

Everywhere in bars, the tube, we ran into fellow zep fans by the wrist band, we wore. Everybody was friendly and we would gather in British pubs for drinks.

I was drinking a lot of Guinesss from tap, and the Guiness in Britian is to die for. Now I am spoiled and I get no pleasure from drinking Canadian beer.

Here was the set list for concert:

Good Times Bad Times
Ramble On
Black Dog
In My Time Of Dying
For Your Life
Trampled Under Foot
Nobody's Fault But Mine
No Quarter
Since I've Been Loving You
Dazed And Confused
Stairway To Heaven
The Song Remains The Same
Misty Mountain Hop
Kashmir

ENCORE 1:
Whole Lotta Love

ENCORE 2:

Rock And Roll

The 02 is a nice venue, and we were in section 420, which was high up but had a good view of the stage. The O2 has not pillars as it is inside the millinium dome, so all the seats are decent.

This concert and trip to the UK, ranks as a major milestone in my life, one that I will cherish forever.

There are some concert video on Youtube, however it does not even capture 1% of the synenergy of actually being there.

I hope they do play again, so more of you can see this awesome band.

I was starting to think you got lost over there.

That is cool, I never thought about it, 22 000 folks had to walk around London for a day with your wrist bands on. That sounds like it would be triggering instant parties everywhere. I read like 20 reviews and nobody mentioned that.

Hey, LGN. I have been able to download the entire show (audio version) and about 8 songs on a DVD. I found all this stuff about 3 days after the show. So its out there on the peer to peer if you want to relive it. You really can feel the excitement in the crowd that night.

You are correct, from what I heard, No Quarter was the best song of the night and the "trippiest".

From what I could see, there were at least 5 cameras around the stage.

Did it appear to you that they are going to produce a DVD? Cause I will be first in line for that!

I am green with envy, I trust you represented Canadian Zep fans in a fine manner.

Was it worth the trip and the expense?

They had a robotic camera that travelled on a track at the base of the stage, and also I saw other profesional AV equipment being used. I would expect a DVD in the summer or fall of 2008.

We ran into some other Canadians that were queueing placement on the floor, and they camped inside the O2 for two days to get the front of the floor, center stage. Those two were actually invited into the Arena on the Sunday before the concert where Zeppelin did there sound check and final practice.

They were also front row center stage with a large Canadian flag during the concert, so Led Zeppelin knows that Canada had a strong presence at the concert.

A friend had tons of air miles, so the flight didn't cost me anything.

Here the cost break down in Canadian Dollars

tickets $573 (2 tickets)
airfair (free with airmiles but would cost $800 each)
B&B in south london $225 (three nights)
Rail/Tube pass (3 days) $40
Guiness and other food groups/Incidentials $300 (three days)

Seeing Led Zeppelin - priceless

Somethings, you don't worry about price, only the opportunity, Led Zeppelin was one of those experiences.

The floor was general admission?

No wonder it looked packed up front.

Thanks for all the feedback.
