London council said it hopes the service will stop people from urinating in alleyways, saying some 4,500 litres of urine ends up in Westminster streets each year.

Only Available for London, Pity!

Hmm, sounds remarkably similar to 2004's pPod [theregister.co.uk]...

Next they'll be coming up with a device into which you can plug your mobile phone whilst you are using the toilet - a bit like the iCarta [dailymail.co.uk], the iPod docking station and handy loo roll dispenser, from last year. :-)

If only they hadn't closed so many of the toilets, folks wouldn't need this. ;)

I wonder how many folks will spend the 50c!

Spent 50c to spend a penny!

Sounds like a good idea to me :)

How about those toilets that come out of the ground during the night for people to use? I thought they would be a lot more popular by now.

Would the newspaper headlines then be like "The Rise of the Toilets!" :)

I reckon if you're drunk enough to urinate in an alleyway, you'd be too drunk to operate your SatLav!

Good idea though, I wonder if it'll tell you if there's paper left and if someones not exactly been on target?
