The question came to mind the other day while I was working on marketing our business, while sleeping. Well, I think it really woke me up that morning.

At work and/or in life should one be Task Oriented or Goal Oriented? IMHO I feel that one should be goal oriented. Task orientation should be used to obtain your goals. Right? ;)

You work on marketing your business while sleeping? Does that mean you sleep at work or that you work while sleeping? :)

Those two things are from the same bolt of cloth.

Work without goals is useless. Goals without work, ditto!...KF

Steven Covey's book on Time Management, "First things First", talks more about setting the compass than it does about managing your time. The concept is that by having you compass pointing in the right direction (Goals, Ambitions etc.) your daily tasks are more predefined and thus your management of time is far easier.

Too much going on here to sleep at work, but it seems that work tends to follow me home, in my mind. So it begs to ask the question, Is my work stalking me? He-He. ;)

Is my work stalking me?

Get a restraining order, then show up and tell your boss all work has to stay at least 300 yards from you!

People who really care about what they do never completely switch off from it. If you enjoy your work it becomes almost indistinguishable from your play.

I don't think it is a bad thing. As long as you prioritize your home life and some personal time to relax. I'd rather dream about work than the latest episode of Big Brother or Coronation Street.

I never seem to have the time to read all those books about time management.

I detest structure in the home office. I'm an entrepreneur. If I wanted "structure", I'd work for a boss man again. Compartmentalization at it's worst. I prefer freedom of thought/actions over that. And...as a result, I get a lot done. I work in spurts...I too have tried to read "time management" books...but have always found them to be a waste of time ;) Instead I waste time here whenever it is that I waste time, that is.

I'd rather have a brainectomy! :)
