I just got one of those phone calls...

The kind you dread

I am using the better half’s screen name just now.

Tonight red bull aka Charlene was out with one of her mates for a few drinks, I stayed at home with plans for some net time and an early night. About 10pm got a phone call from her screaming "you need to come here she needs to go to hospital, she’s been hit with a bottle" it was from her mobile. so my first assumption was it was her friend that had been injured, i got in the car and drove live Andretti on a good day to where it happened. spoke to the bouncer he said the ambulance had left and the friend went with them. I assumed that it was Charlene that was the friend. Got to the hospital and asked at admittance then had no record of her friends name, but did have a record of the incident and the admittance. It turns out it was Charlene that had been injured,
The voice on the phone call was more or less a screamed message, i just assumed it was her because of the name that cam up on my phone, turns out it was her friend using her phone.
Seams ok... staying over to keep an eye on her.. 3 stitches in her head (thankfully in her hair so no visible scaring.. some pretty bad bruising to her face but nothing that wont heal....

Here in Canada we usually drink what is in the bottle and return it to get some money back.

My daughter rang me in the summer asking how to get her car out of a ditch. Turned out it was a write off, but she was OK. Thank the powers that be. Heart skipped a beat like yours probably did. Gotta be cool and give strength.

sympathy to both of you mack. i know just what you mean about those phone calls. i get them every couple of months from my ex-wife saying my son's had an accident. he's been hospitalised several times while on contact visits with her - several head injuries etc but the worst was severe (2nd degree) burns from boiling water and she did nothing for nearly 2 hours then phoned me in a panic (15 months on and the scarring is hardly visible now and he's ok).

it takes a while to get over the shock and panic when these things happen and all sorts of things play on your mind for a while, but you should both recover soon. good luck.

It's mack again!

Just a short follow up.

She appears to be well and truly on the mend. Still has very slight concussion but all in all as Thors_Hammer said "it could have been a lot worse"

The police now know who it was and are interviewing witnesses. With a bit of luck the girl who did it will get what's coming!

The one issue that really disturbs me was the way the stewards in the club dealt with it, after she was assaulted she was made to leave the premises, and soon feel unconscious on the pavement outside, who in their right mind forces someone with head injuries to go outside?

The one person I would really like to thank out of all of this was a female passer bye, who was a trainee nurse. She called the ambulance and actually managed to talk the stewards into giving her a towel. she also stayed with her until the ambulance arrived.

Just a nameless person, but special thanks go to her.

OUCH! Sad to be a victim of a random act of violence when you're only out to have an enjoyable evening with friends. (Lucky she got off with stitches.) Seems like the few times I venture out some illiterate clod starts a brawl with another illiterate clod and they end up knocking over my drink in the process.

Then again, I should know better than to patronize establishments with any variation of "Roadhouse" on their business sign.

On the other hand, if it was an all out brawl I hope she got a couple of really good licks in before she went out the door :)

Weird. This was a girl that hit her mack? Shouldn't think it was completly random though, maybe they had some kind of altercation that little miss bottle bully took to far?
