Every time I receive an email notification from WW, I notice it states

"devnell@webma...". My burning question is who or what is a "devnull"?

and yes I am having a slow day!...KF

That's me. Sorry about that. I'll change it. What would you like it to read?

BTW KF.. I like your posts. You keep things lively around here!

WyWeb, No don't change it at all! I was just wondering what it meant

I assume that's your name. The first name must be Devon and last name Nullberry

or some such?! Keep them coming!...KF

i'm guessing that a sysadmin set up a virtual black hole for email and named it after the equivalent *nix device.
the paths to devices on *nix systems are addressed such as /dev/devicename.
there is always a standard null device called /dev/null where you can pipe or redirect any process output you want to disappear, so to speak...

If you promise not to look, I'll give you a link [en.wikipedia.org].

Now what am I going to do the rest of the day?

Oh well there is always some on line Solitaire or maybe a nap!...KF

Hey KF.

You could always ponder the rational behind the size change in the PubCon graphic: large - small - large again.

Well there's also the circum-differential, which comes into play with uploading paramters and is usually affected by the tides and moons. Those sorts of thing are usually influenced by user input and while we do our best to regulate that, sometimes errors do occur.

Marshall, There are some things that are far beyond my mental capacity to ponder.

Fonts and graphics for PubCon fall into that category!...KF

> The Devnull

When I saw the thread title, I immediately thought the chatter would be about a *nix geek's evil Hallowe'en costume... :)

For the superstitious, this is post 13!
