My wife and I went to see the Alabama 3 at the Carling Academy in Glasgow last night. This band must be quite unique in that they sell out venues and have a great fanbase without ever really having had a hit record.

They were absolutely amazing! Anyone else seen them?

(They are the band that made, "Woke up this morning", the track that is used as the Sopranos theme tune.)

Yup - I saw them back in 2001/02 at the camden palace in London - they were amazing. Glad to hear they're still alive - they're the kind of band you just expect to explode at some point. One of the best live acts I've ever seen though.

Yes, not only still alive but growing. They are actually the Alabama 9 now. They have a female singer who is terrific - sounds like Tina Turner.

I forgot to mention ... when we arrived at the door of the venue the stewards were searching everyone coming in. When my wife and I approached the guy just said to me, "on you go sir".

It looks like I am even too old to be searched. I WANT TO BE SEARCHED GUYS. I am not even 60 yet!
