Who holds the biggest share of the market?

I've been looking over alot of software companies in various shareware and download sites, and I noticed the market is much more geographically diverse then I would have expected.

I found out that a large number of software firms come from the EU, Russia, China, Australia.

I was expecting to see a much larger share of US based developers and companies out here.

Can anybody shed any light on the subject? Im wondering who holds the biggest share of the market today.

Isn't Microsoft large enough anymore? ;)
