I should have been born in 1950, I'd be 57 right now which would suck, but to be able to say that I saw the worlds greatest band, thats a memory I would love to have.

Anyone wanna front me and my wife 250 pounds for tickets, airfare from California, and hotel stay?
If so, sticky me, I will be your bestest friend.

And on a side note, 12 days from now will be 27 years since the world lost the most influential drummer of our time.

I saw Zeppelin when I was 16 in 1976. You don't have to be 57 to have seen them, you just had to be able to sneak out of the house with the parents car ;-)

I WAS 3 IN 1976!

Man oh man, you guys suck, wouldn't happen to have any salt that you can rub on the wound would ya?

Heeh, j/k, I'm glad that you guys got to experience it. The closest I came to was Plant/Page with Blind Melon opening up for them.

Here's some salt -

I went to high school in LA and saw Zeppelin at the Forum - It was the Song Remains the Same tour - I got seats four out of the seven nights they played.

On their night off, Jimmy Page came into a club I was at called the Starwood and jammed with a band called The Detectives. The sad thing is, my memory sucks, and I barely remember much from any of the shows... Dazed and Confused, but I was there ;)

Yeah, you missed a heck of a lot a good times. But, yeah, being 55+ sorta sucks unless you planned to "retire" early.

I saw young Jason playing at a club birthday party in a casino in Villajojosa, Alicante, a couple of years ago.
He is the perfect man to fill his dads seat.

Only saw Zep once in the seventies but can't remember much ;)

I wonder how may of these people are going to resell these tickets.

I have seen tickets sites that are selling these tickets for close to $2000 a pop. Since they are not authorized to sell these tickets, their is only one way to fill those orders.

If 80,000 tickets are sold, then I figure I have about a 1 in 250 or 300 chance of getting tickets, and im ain't selling them for any price.

Can't help wondering how much influence any drummer has had 'in our time'?

<edit - or of course any time for that matter>

I can't say I've been influenced much, if any, by a particular drummer, but I can name a few guitar players that have.

Any given drummer probably doesn't have much sway in polite society, but some have more influence in drummers' world than others.

I think this is your last day to apply for the draw.

I'm in and now hoping for a positive outcome for me and the wife!

If 80,000 tickets are sold

I hear its only 15 000. I would imagine half go to record company execs, movie stars, the press etc.

So that would leave 7 or 8 thousand for us regular folk. Meaning it really is like winning a lottery.
