Just arrived today (bought it over ebay). It's perfect and I love it.

I've been messing around with cheap strat copies for ages (I'm a bassist originally) and this is my first "proper" guitar. The difference a top of the range guitar makes has really surprised me - both in terms of tone and ease of playing.

I know there's a few other guitarists around here - what are you playing? Got any tips for a new Tele owner?

Yeah. Mail it to me, you need a second opinion and I need to make sure you got a good deal.

:-P

My only brush with fame was a genuine (1959?) Les Paul I squandered in my youth. Having done so, I've never deserved a replacement.

I have a mint condition 1974 Fender Stratocaster. It has a natural finish with a maple neck. Haven't played it in years.

OUCH!

It is amazing how much easier a good guitar is to play. You barely have to touch the strings to play a perfect sustaining note. When I use to play alot I would warm up with a crappy accoustic to build up strength, then switch to my Strat. What a difference.

Yep, my favorite is my American Strat. White with rosewood neck. Heck, I think I'll fire that thing up right now. :)

Oh yeah. Just cranked the volume, threw in some drive, heavy on the reverb. Good thing I don't have to hear myself type.

I played a mexican strat for a while, threw some of the vintage noiseless pups in it, sounds great. I still pull that one out off and on.

Now, I mostly play a Hagstrom Deluxe F - great guitar for the price. Kind of a funky tailpiece thing, but it gives the guitar tons of sustain.

I think a nice american tele will be the next on the list, unless I start feeling like I need an acoustic 12 string.
