YouTube features a new video, secretly shot at SES San Jose, in which Matt Cutts describes a new Google tag which avoids the need for all that painful spamming and having to go into denial in these forums.

It looks like this: "<Google name="MakeMeNumberOne" keywords="Buy Viagra" duration="30">

Add that to your site, and Google will Make You Number One for 30 days.

Asked what happens if you have two pages with the same keyword, Matt advises "whichever one gets spidered first".

Asked if you could increase 'duration' to more than 30 days, Matt responded "we'll kick you so far out the index you won't know where you came from'

Before you get too excited, I should point out that Matt Cutts appears to be a cardboard cut-out - and his accent has changed a lot since last time I heard him.

Hmmm. Must be April 1 already ...

[added:] Nothing to do with me - I just found it while searching Google Video. It may be Dave Dugdake?[/]

Yes that was my video. I had a ton of fun creating it.

If anyone wants to watch it you can go to the link on my profile and then look at my top post page.
