Anyone heard of this? Take a webmaster to lunch day?

Oooookay. I dunno. Sounds good, but then how about "OnePaperDay" for print folks?

Still, I do believe it's wise to take a moment and think how the Internet has changed our lifes.

Sounds like Hallmark found another poor excuse to produce a greeting card.

Mind you, it beats 'Happy St. Patrick's Day......from the cat' that I actually did see this year.

I've worked on some industry promotional efforts and this strikes me as odd. I mean, the media is full of web news every day.

A test-

Google results on "beer:"
about 131,000,000 results.

Google results on "George Bush:"
about 139,000,000 results.

Google results on "sex:"
about 460,000,000 results.

Google results on "money:"
about 649,000,000 results.

Google results on "internet:"
about 1,290,000,000 results.

I therefore submit that the web, and everyone else, is already over-involved with the web.

Still, just for grins, I might have taken the webmasters to lunch on the 22nd, but it's a Saturday.

You can take me to lunch? Live anywhere near Birmingham (the original one).
