Does any one have any good recommendations for 17" flat crt monitors? I have looked at so many reviews, just looking for a decent montor to replace my 5yrd old dell.

The Samsung Syncmaster Series is beautiful. I have a 19" flat CRT and it's the best monitor I've ever used.

AOC's are probably the best flat crt's i've seen for a long time at the cost, and their very well priced, don't quite understand how they can get the picture level for the cost. Got two of them at work, 17 and 19 inch, also with Philips, Hyuandi's, Microvetec's, and Siemens. For the money the AOC is the best. Out of all the monitors we have at work then probably the Microvetec, though very expensive.
Mitsubishi's are very good, i've got a Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 92, 19" running with a ATI 128MB DDR v.card running at home. Excellant combination.
Once you decided on a monitor, don't forget the Graphics card.

I have the 17" flat LCD made by Envision. It has a built in TV Tuner with picture in picture. So, I can watch the news or a baseball game while working on the computer. Even comes with a remote control. I absolutely love it, and have had no problems with it so far (3 months). I bought it at Costco for around $750 I think it was. And, the nice thing about Costco is that you can return it for a refund at ANYTIME (no time limit). You can take it back a year and a half later if it stops working. For that reason, I buy a lot of my computer equipment at Costco (especially laptops).

Thanks for all the suggestions I had never heard of some of those companies. I ended up going with 2 17" Philips Brilliance 107P20. It gets excellent reviews at several places from companies and users. It was the right price and free ground shipping ). My card takes 2 monitors, though it may not be the best, I really like this function for working.
