I used to ask the same thing until I started using Facebook. It's the simplest way I've found to share photos, you just post them, and all your friends can see, you don't accidentally miss people in an email, or have to resend to find them. I've also re-connected with several people I had lost touch with, whom, while I had thought of, didn't know where to start looking to regain contact. I'm not a fan of all the extra applications, but hey...whatever floats your boat.

I agree with what Gibble says about Facebook. I love it now and can contact people I lost touch with years ago. As for the applications, I wasn't going to install any, but people do ask why you haven't received such and such, so I added a load of those as well :)
