Hehehe, the Mockingbirds are having a field day with the neighbor's cats. She's been asked to keep them indoors per the RR but doesn't care. That's okay, what goes around comes around.

Her two cats, previous three, I trapped one and sent it off to Animal Control, are an absolute nuisance here in the community. They've been responsible for putting a small dent in the bird population around here. Heck, they climb through the trees looking for babies, they're crazy!

Tis the season for little birdies to come to life. We have quite a few Mockingbirds around here and they are currently in full swing raising their young. But, between the two California Hawks who have taken nest nearby and my neighbors cats (who attract other feral cats), they are having a rough time of it. :)

This morning I hear the usual Mockingbird racket. I can tell when the cats are out because the Mockingbirds get very vocal and physical. But today was different, the vocals were louder. So, I go outside and what do I see? Hehehe, my neighbor's gray cat is under attack by two (02) Mockingbirds and they are pissed! They are literally dive bombing him with their beaks dead on. He's got ruffled hair all over his back and can't make a run for it. He tries but they've got the diving routine down pat. He did eventually get away but not without a little less hair on his back along with some open wounds.

Damn thing deserved it. I know he is only acting out of instinct when doing his search and destroy missions but we have a charter here for all community members to abide by. Animals are to remain indoors unless on a leash or accompanied by their owner. Imagine a cat on a leash?

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against cats, I'm a Leo. But, when they come into "my territory" and start messing with "my turf", I have a problem. :)

I figured I'd call this the WebmasterWorld Feline Series. It appears that us Webmasters have a Fixation on Felines...

That's not exactly allowing natural cat behaviour is it?

It's been pointed out before- cats don't have owners, they have staff. And the cats probably wouldn't want to be seen outdoors accompanied by their staff anyway (unless it was the staff member on the leash).

Use the community by-laws to go after the cats' staff. They are the ones breaking the rules, so fine 'em or kick 'em out.

I'm also not anti-cat (I love them), but that is apparently not the right community for them (the cats). And if their staff are cat lovers as well, then that's probably not the right community for them either.

I've read many cat threads in the off-topic areas of many forums over the years, and I have to say that I neutered my neighbor's cat is in a league of it's own.. just thinking about it makes me chuckle.

One of mine likes to go out outside with me on a nice day - in her harness and tiger-patterned leash :).

You can train a cat to wear a harness and leash, but you have to start getting them accustomed to it when they're kittens and still somewhat gullible...

I never realized there were that many "cats" threads - almost enough to justify a separate section of the forum for them :)!
