Web Cams

Need a good one...

I need to buy a good web cam, for video conferencing, not really interested in any ability to take pictures (stills) just the streaming side of things, someone has suggested getting a cam and using a dedicated card rather than USB. It will be used via broadband.

So if any kind soul has recommendations on;
1) Web cam
2) Connection / Configuration methods to the PC

I do video conf using a Creative Labs WebCam 5.

I do have access to a fast connection and the stream is very good appearently. I would definitely buy one if I was going to do that sort of thing with my money.

If you're going for the high-end video it's usually better to have a dedicated capture card. I've got the Winnov Videum 1000, which was supposedly the same card the Microsoft team used when developing NetMeeting (or something along those lines). Having a separate card really smoothes things out for video conferencing. As far as the camera goes, Winnov threw one in for me...it does remote zooms, but that's about it. Quality is not bad at all. However if you have the capture card you can use just about any camera, even your home video cam.
