she gets 45 days for dui.
minister's wife lady who offed husband while he slept gets only 7 months, possibly less.

Big contrast and both on the same day.

Just to clarify. She got probation for the DUI. (3 years I think)

She got the 45 days for breaking probation... caught driving with a suspended license twice, not attending the alcohol classes, and not showing up in court.

I really don't know why she's so upset. She'll be in a gated community, strip searched, photographed, she'll get new clothes, and there will be group showering - pretty much like most of her dates.

You didn't mention the body cavity search. Heard on our news that she didn't have to go thru that normal ritual (in jail, not her dates, I mean)

Don't members of your legal system wear cute curled wigs?

This story isn't funny anymore. No one is looking very good.

This is great grist for the Internet mill, but that broadcast news--which only has so many minutes to tell what is what--would spend so much time on this is sad.

Sad is the word on the entire situation.

This story isn't funny anymore.

But . . . Inquiring Minds Want to Know!

The *really* sad part is they'be picked Paris Hilton to say "see? We prosecute everyone fairly regardless of class, the legal system DOES work!" A lot of appetites are satiated by this whole story, but some of us aren't fooled one bit. We remember O.J., Tyson, Rodney King. Sensationalism at it's finest.

I think this is one of the cases where to much meddling of lawyers produced the opposite effect. They wanted to get her out as soon as possible, straining the legal system to its limits. If she simply would have accepted the ruling, had served a week or 10 days there probably would have been much of an outcry if she had spend the rest of her jail time in her villa under house arrest. But serving 3 out of an original 45 day sentence, which then count as 5 days because she checked in just before midnight was probably a little too much.

Yes, and I think they can't cry "Medical!" and when that doesn't work say the real reason was "overcrowding".

Like on Seinfeld: "You already said 'Spite'. You can't change it."

What gets me is that she could very easily afford to pay a full-time chauffeur. Wouldn't that small expense have been worth avoiding jail...?

I expected this thread to be about how she went straight to Money and how SEO sucked as a way to get there...
