Are there standalone systems to power a single PC, or do you have to invest in a complete house-powered system? Wouldn't it be great to be able to power a PC with solar power!

there are systems to power self standing security cameras, not heard of a commercially available one for a computer though!

Why? Do you intend working out in the wild? :)

For a real stand alone desktop system find a “solar panel, dc/ac converter and battery pack”, the battery capacity should be able to deliver power for x hours a day. The solar panel(s) should be able to charge the battery within x hours. $.$$$ The best choice would be a laptop, you only need the solar panels and a controller that fits the laptops battery voltage. .$$$

Thanks Petra Kaiser, I'd guess, there's no standalone system manufactured as a plug and go unit?

The outdoor sport industry may have units available, for a desktop a 700 to 900W 230VAC output unit would be necessary. Comparing cost and savings, ROI if used daily starts after 5 to 10 years. To give you a picture the weight of such a unit may be around 70kg. In my opinion solar energy is for freaks but fine if you live in de middle of nowhere and that is where it is used.
