broadcast webcam over LAN

anyone know of a simple and preferably free way of viewing a regular logitec usb webcam connected to a computer (that is running a webserver) over the local network.

or by any method? using the current equipment eg. regular webcam (usb), wired LAN, webserver etc.

I experimented with Windows Media Encoder 9 a while back, it's easy to set up a media stream from your pc with it.

VLC is another program you can do thjat with, never tried it with webcam though, just mini-dv.
