What do you do to unwind?

Quite often I work on personal stuff to unwind (I am a such a workaholic <g>)

When I'm not working I like to:

- Take kids to the beach/park (live few minutes from both)

- Play World of Warcraft

- Xbox 360

- Watch limited T.V (not much good stuff on... 24, Dragons' Den and the Apprentice are my favs)

What about you peeps?

Well of late I have turned into a work'o'holic. I have found more than anything else that you just need to get away from the screen, watching a movie on the laptop just does not cut it.

So what to do? Well on Monday I walked down to the local Tesco and back (40mins) and then made cakes! I guess what I do is work more but take longer breaks.

Maybe tomorrow I will go visit some family.

Tonight I will be watching Italy v Scotland in the world cup qualifier. Something tells me I'll need to unwind after this.

Get out of the house. Go somewhere. Anywhere. Usually there's a lake or a river at the other end but that's not a requirement. The idea is to change the environment and do it in as big a way possible.

When I can't do that I go out in my garage. I have a little shop out there with some tools and some scrap lumber and I turn the music on and piddle around for hours like some sort of misplaced master carpenter.

Sure can. I can shoot from Blaze's back, when I try that with Tiara, about 50% of the time, I find myself on my back. ; )

Club baby seals, torch orphanages, put habanero extract in little old ladies' dentures, take one soda from a six-pack at the supermarket, rip off mattress labels and do volunteer Web sites.

Not in any particular order:

* take food, drink, and a book into my hammock under the grape arbour.

* invite one or more friends over for food, drink, and conversation.

* go sailing o'er, and diving under, the salt chuck.

Bicycle. As long as I keep my mind from drifting towards work.

I have that same thing happen. I workout at the gym, but my mind goes to my problems. I need to focus on my form, but my mind goes off to business issues. I cannot be in the moment. This is a serious concern for me.

Fuel up my nitro RC's and give them three tanks around the track on my property . . . . or . . . . crash my RC heli into the house. Empty wallet and repair said heli. Rinse and repeat. :-)

Sail, play golf, vacation, go for a drive in the countryside......but, my favorite, and most common activity, is to sit by the pool and do absolutely NOTHING!

Most days I do a hours brisk walking along the seafront listening to BBC downloads on my MP3 player. At home I can relax with my harmonica. Occasionally I'll have a wee kip in the afternoon 'cause I can - I'm happily retired ;-)
