Got an email from a young girl demanding to know the name of a good looking 30-ish man photographed on our website. We have no idea; he's a professional model in a product shot provided by one of our suppliers. The photo shows up on many other sites selling the same products.

Girl claims she had a long "online relationship" with him until his "death" last year. She isn't saying the model looks like him. She's saying the picture is the exact one he sent her. (a product demonstration shot, by the way LOL)

Feel sorry for the girl who has been grieving the death of her "true love" for the past 9 months.

Funnier by the minute.

Been exchanging email. Girl says he told her he was a police officer. They planned to get married and he was starting to build a home for them!

Later she got an email from his "mom" informing the girl that her son died bravely in a police car accident (he threw himself over his partner to save her life!)

He lingered in the hospital for a month and suffered amnesia (how convenient when you're having trouble keeping your story straight).

There are at least three memorial websites honoring this fallen "hero." They all show the same product demonstration photo of him on a virtual grave marker.

I'm trying to find out now whether anyone sent him or his mom money during his long and no doubt costly final illness.

Of course there's no mention on news sites of any cop with his name being killed in a vehicle accident last year.

And the girl is in on this, or is she genuine in her beliefs?

She's a victim and has gone to the trouble of creating several online memorials to him that I've seen. She now realizes she's been conned. She says she never sent money to him or his "mom." Apparently she never talked with either by phone, even though they were planning to live together eventually.

Hate to burst her bubble. Don't think she's a kid. More likely a single mom from what I can tell.

Track down the model. He may want to know he's dead.

If she knew him and it was the exact photo...

why would she be asking you what his name is?

Any port in a storm, Ispy.

9 months grieving over a dead picture. If she tries to contact the living model, this is likely to become a stalker case.
The story gives me the creeps, because I've HAD an actual stalker before.

Here's hoping she will go on to something normal, now that she knows. Thanks for sharing, but beware how involved you get.

Feel sorry for this girl, but I see where she advertised on one of those dating websites.

Her "turn-ons" are listing as: Beach walks, the outdoors [so far so good] Also erotica, piercings, skinny dipping and tattoos.

---
Just noticed that the memorial sites she created in his honor are now taken down.

---
Agree about getting sucked into this. Haven't communicated with her more than a week.

How do you know that SHE'S not joe-jobbing?

On the Internet, no one knows you're a dog, and there are people who get their rocks off playing the most absurd games.

Reminds me of my very brief foray into internet dating. The photos of her in her profile looked like she just walked off the runway.

When we finally met in person...I ran away.

Apparently she wasn't as particular as you. ;)

All seriousness aside, I've found as I've aged, the pool of acceptable women has actually gotten bigger. Not that I'm looking. My wife has some stupid rule against that. :)
