Let's see, this week at least a dozen soldiers died in Iraq to keep gas prices under $3 making the total number of US troops killed more than several times every single person you attended high school with, dozens of innocent Iraqis dying every day, there's a full-on genocide going on in Darfur and Zimbabwe, but a woman who probably never worked an honest day in her life and probably OD'ed gets national news?
Since she was a widely known person and it's a recent event I'd say: Yes it's newsworthy.
probably never worked an honest day in her life
the floats are going to be great!

Now the paternity suit for the billion dollar baby.
Movie rights, anyone?
"Mr von Anhalt was born Robert Lichtenberg, the son of a German policeman. He bought his title of prince after being adopted by a bankrupt daughter-in-law of the last kaiser."
Why does TV keep referring to him as "Frederic Prinz von Anhalt."
Finally, last night, some news babe asked him what he was "Prinz" of. Not much apparently.
How could anyone be surprised by her death given her reputation as a consumer of massive quantities of intoxicants.
Then how do you explain Keith Richards and Ozzy Osbourne? Not hard-core addicted enough?
heeh.
I just found this surprising that she died, especially with reading so much about her in the news lately albeit drama based, but still. Since I'm a youngin', 33 years old, I can't remember when Maryilyn Monroe or James Dean died, (and please don't read into that that I'm comparing her to them, just using them as an example) but I can imagine the shock to be similar.
The truth is that our prurient, Jerry Springer-like interest in Anna Nicole Smith is precisely what we should expect of ourselves because of what religion sometimes tells us about the human condition.
