i'm thinking of buying a new one, so should i buy one before i go or would it be ok to wait until i'm there?

[i'm coming from uk]

ah yes, but mostly they work through an adaptor anyway don't they?

the software could be an issue i think though, especially all this talk of windows vista on different continents

Electronics/computer prices are the same or higher than in the US/UK. All the savings of Argentina is in the food/restaurants (great quality and cheap!), rent (to a lesser extent) and other domestic produced products. Imported products cost the same or more.

btw, I'm an American who lived in Buenos Aires for 9 months a couple years ago. Feel free to ping me with any other questions about Buenos Aires.

I had a great time and ran my business from down there from an apartment. I miss it already....You'll enjoy it I'm sure!

Oh yeah... and you just need an adaptor. You can find out what adaptor you need online. I don't know what software problems you are talking about...in any event I didn't have software problems when I was down there, although I know nothing about Vista.
