Forum Moderators: open
And what a year it was! 2006 has proven to be as frustrating, productive, controversial and just plain interesting as almost any year on the net. Many doors were opened just as many more were closed. The price of entry rose for some, the cost of success lowered for others, and it seems we had more Patent filings than at which you could poke with a blunt stick. Not so many mergers in the SE arena this year, but then, we did have Ms Dewey. ;)
It has been interesting to watch the commercialisation of the net take off even more so in the last twelve months with more players in both the PPC and Publishing arenas, and current growing concern over the apparent lack of transperancy in Search Marketing and Blog Marketing.
The early days of the World Wild West may be over, but the online marketplace has a long way to go yet before being a mature and stable environment, if that ever happens of course. The opportunities are endless. If anything, I am reminded of the line from Back to the Future III where Doc says "~ your future hasn't been written yet. No one's has. Your future is whatever you make it. So make it a good one ~".
So, may I wish all of you all the very best for 2007, and no-matter what you decide to do, "make it a good one!"
