I'm gonna give this one to you, pmkpmk ... 'cause you were so close with your ferrule and now with the description of "sealing the end".

To be quite specific, it is a crimp-on (break) cable end cap (to prevent fraying).

Hehe... thought a bit "German Gemütlichkeit" might help... the idea is the same though.

Now let's see it in context!

Well done, everyone!
And congrats to pmkpmk!

Will you be able to host next week's quiz? And, eelixduppy, can you be the back-up host?

Thanks! I even had a biking site online during my hunt. In German this is called "Endhülse", and it can be used electrically or mechanical - thus my question about conductivity.

Timezones are a bit in favor against me, so if eelixduppy - who was extremely close too - wants to give us the honor...

I'm fine with either of you hosting it, as long as you (please) announce the time of the quiz at least 24 hours in advance.

Well, I have to get going. But, again, well done everyone.
I hope you enjoyed it :)

And, I hope we can get the quizzes going again ;)
