Callers using internet phone system Skype who might be tempted to tell a few porkies should beware - the user on the other end may have a lie detector.
Skype is to offer the KishKish Lie Detector, which is made by BATM, as an add-on for customers.

It analyses audio streams over a Skype call in real time and illustrates the stress levels of the other person.

Handy, hell!

This little gem is a nifty marketing tool, it remains to be seen how well it goes over. Always optimistic :), here's what I see happening.

  • Cold call salesperson, "Yes ma'am, ours is the best".
Little old lady, "You liar!" Click

  • Customer service rep, "Yes ma'am, we shipped it this morning".
Customer, "You liar! Let me talk to your supervisor."

  • Significant half, "Yes dear, I had to work late you know."
    Other significant half, "You liar!"

You Liar could be the next new catchphrase.

As well as operating in real time the KishKish device can also record calls for analysis later.

    Great.
