Well,

I've been up since 6am, i finished work at 8pm, battled through ASDA for a pizza and they'd run out of chicken, I'm half way through a bottle of cheap plonk with the missus, but the main challenge is still ahead.

Can i stay up and listen to the cricket, only time will tell....

You only have one cricket? Place where I was staying recently, there must have been hundreds in the field out at the back, more of a problem them keeping me awake than me trying to stay up to listen to them. Got to eat some fried though, which I felt was a just revenge (this was Thailand, by the way).

The trick to eating fried insects is to realise that they taste basically of whatever they were fried in, i.e. a bit like exotically shaped crisps.

This is excellent preparation for when one is presented with a bowl of fried mini frogs, which taste pretty much the same, unless you put some sauce on them.

whilst fried insects sound nice, i prefer the leather on willow variety that we play on this generally large insect free isle ;-)

camel however, now there's a tasty dish!

Locusts are crispier than cricket.

hughie, good on you.

I tried to stay up for the at least start but struggled to stay awake. It's no good, I failed, and as soon as my head hit the pillow I was fast asleep.

I'll have to wait for the highlights the following evening.

I didn't do much better, managed about 45 minutes and then it was too much. did better on saturday night and last night but it wasn't exactly entralling stuff, more peaceful jabbering to send me to sleep than anything else.

Looks like it'll be a draw here, probably another in perth and then it's anyones.
