ok i'm a big fan of opera (the browser) but right now i cannot connect to:

www.ripe.net

i get the old default message:
You tried to access the address [ripe.net...] which is currently unavailable. Please make sure that the Web address (URL) is correctly spelled and punctuated, then try reloading the page.

however i can with both firefox and ie

i've opened and closed the browser and various other things but to no avail, other sites such as WebmasterWorld there is no problem.

connects fine for me ..opera on win 98II win 32 ( Id ing itself as opera 9.2 ) win 98II .. 32 platform from France ( javascript "extra" prohibited via my own stuff but that's not germain to your case ;-)..

( member logs here confirm config if I needed it ;-) ..

IMO ..
Problem is either at youre end or somewhere on route betwixt thee and the ripe server ..try again at 30 minute intervals before getting 2 worried ..

the tubes are at best a vague approximation of what we perceive to be real ..

then agin ..could be your opera ..the tubes ..or as my long dead dad used to say ..perhaps you just aren't holding your mouth the right way ..dad was Irish ..loike farhder lioke sohn ..trew ..;-))

you're so funny leosghost!

still can't connect, it's an oddity - as other browsers can, there must some kind of caching issue going on, although i've tried to clear all that.

ah well such is life

>>the tubes are at best a vague approximation of what we perceive to be real

yeah well, i think anything i perceive is only a vague approx of reality at times

BTW ..you do know that opera ( 9 series ) makes the most absolutely humungeuos ( long time since we heard from him ;-) ) sized cache files ..usually #4 ..
opera tends IME to make 4 cache files and usually # 4 is the last active one ( in 98II doze anyway ) ..dont delete it ..
but if you have something like ccleaner in place? ( if not ..the present poster recommends it for all doze users ..whatever the flavour ..no spyware ..no keylogs ..and no embarrassing itch the morning after )
in options "apps" oprah internet cache ..tick it and hit ..the gilmore button ..

try the connect again after 30 minutes ..

and practice your best Norwegian in case of a "trouble ticket" ...
