Why is that a bug? It points you to the middle of Germany, and the zoom level is what it normally defaults to ... :)

True, not perhaps the most user friendly, but not a bug

street? How can you miss it?

Ummmm....you perhaps don't see it?

Now that you've said that, I wonder if people see different data on G maps, like when they search, getting different datacenters...

Looks like a bug to me too.

Zooming all the way out, it looks like there are 4 sets of continents. That's probably not a bug.

I see the bug- very cute (and BIG) bugger!

For those who don't see it, make sure you're in Satellite view.

Dat's a bug. Minus legs... not sure if it ever had wings.

I'd heard they got that big but this is the first time I've ever actually seen one...

Actually, I think this a remnant of WWII when the Nazis were experimenting with radioactive bugs to drop bombs on London.

LOL . . . I wish I could point to a pic here, one day the satellite was losing signal, I had carried the phone outside and was about to call them up when I looked at my satellite dish . . . .

. . . the receiver was crawling with wasps, it seems they found a sliver in the corner of the receiver to crawl in and build a nest. Bugs in the system . . . lol . . . .

Google Earth has the same bug. Do a Google Earth search for: 48.857635,10.20529

You'll see it there larger than life.

If you go to Google Earth and change the perspective, you'll see that the bug is squashed flat.

Instead of worrying about a bug of that size, let's worry about whatever it was that was able to squash it flat!

Aparently, we are not alone...

It looks like a virus marketing to me.
They placed a bug there just to make people talk about it.

Then Google Maps is getting milions of new users just by word spread.
