Alright, here's the story. I just got an MicroSaver Portable Notebook Combination Lock last week, and a few days ago I removed it from my laptop in order to take it somewhere. That went fine.

However, when I was putting the lock back on, I was having some difficulties so I tried different things to put it back on, i.e. flip the switch on top, put it to my combo to get it on, etc.

Whatever I did, I think I accidentally changed the combo because now the damn thing won't come off. This might be one of the stupidest things I've ever done and I'm pretty embarassed to admit it, but I don't know what to do. Anyone experience this before? (I sure hope not, heh...) Any ideas?

Thanks a ton.

How do I Personalize/Change the Combination on my Notebook ComboSaver™?

To Personalize or Change your Notebook ComboSaver™ combination:

1. Rotate the combination wheels to the current code. The pre-set factory code is 000.
2. Press the reset button at the end of the lock body -- just look for the Kensington logo (a small picture of a padlock with a K inside it.)
3. While pressing the reset button, set your combination to a number of your choice aligned with the black line. In setting the combination, choose something that is easy to remember.

IMPORTANT: Do not let go of the reset button while setting the combination. If the button is released while you are setting the combination, the ComboSaver will set to a combination that you may not have specified.

4. Release the reset button. Your new combination is now set.

My lock will not open with the combination I set it to, what do I do?

To maintain the highest levels of security for your belongings, there is no “master-combination” to bypass the locking mechanism. If, for any reason, the correct combination will not open the lock, please go to [support.kensington.com...] and select the “email Technical Support” link.
