My last car was 12 years old, and started shutting off in traffic. My old car, still sitting outside, was a great car for doing "TEEN WOLF" on, but I quit doing that because it was very dangerous & put dents in the hood.
Anyway, I'm so pumped up about this car. It only has 5 miles on it, and I put them on. I hope this car lasts me 12 years longer.
.....our old car still sitting outside is a 1995 Saturn SC2.....and you know what? It is still very usable!
We rarely drive it now, but, it always starts first time. In 11+ years its only failure was a the cheap piece of plastic GM use to attach the gear lever to the shift cable.
GM dealers will charge you $700+ to replace that inch piece of crummy plastic after about 5 years (they still use it today), or you can search online and discover how to fix it yourself in minutes for pennies with a much better solution that will last longer than the rest of the car! (a simple aluminum nut/bolt that requires a little drilling).
Since buying the Saturn, I've bought Caddy's and 'vettes from GM....the Caddy's are dead and buried already, the C6 Corvette is unreliable, the Saturn is however still a workhorse!
I own a lot of cars.....should a pregnant lady need my help dashing her to a hospital I would either grab the keys to my newish Porsche or my very old Saturn! Wouldn't trust the other cars on an important trip!
it does require lot of hardwork to get these good looking things :) good luck and congrats for your new luxury
