My websites are on shared servers at small inexpensive hosting companies. Today I came across a site that provides a list of all the domains hosted on any shared server when you input its IP, and checked my sites' servers out of curiosity. What I found is that, judging by their domain names, the vast majority of the sites co-hosted with my sites appear to be amateurish spammy enterprises that have almost no chance to be successful. [ Of course I don't include my own sites in this category :) ].

I once read somewhere that most new websites survive for less than two years. Now I can see why.

Those DNS scraper sites are not always accurate. A while back I had a hosting account that exposed the names of other home folders. Many of the scrapers had more than a few missed domains.

Goodness, Aristotle. I had no idea you and I were on the same server.
