Yup. I've long believed that professional web people should go to church or join a Rotary Club or get involved in a very local political group and find out how real people interact with the the web. Or, put another way, Amazon's lame UI is not lame. It's what works.

Some SEO from Berkeley, CA did an SEO presentation for the parents at my kid's elementary school a few years ago. The next day they were all typing each other's URL into Google and clicking to get to the site because they were told that CTR is a ranking signal and clicking on their URL was how to get Google to rank it better.
