If 3 webmasters set down at a table in a Pub in the afternoon - is it ok for one to order tea?

I'll bet that the edit was to add the word "finger" to the post. LOL.

My pub does a Pint of Tea to go with the Liver and Bacon casserole they make on Sundays. It's very good tea and goes very well with the meal.

Ok so I finished the afternoon off with a few beers.

It is my favourite meal of the week.

SEOs have been known to try to pass as 'normal' by ordering tea - ROFL!

In my line of work heavy drinking is a requirement of the, people find the work stressful and relive it by drinking. The amount of negative/borderline insulting comments Ive received when just asking for a soft drink is incredible.

SKA_DEMON: Liver and Bacon casserole - In your neck of the woods I hear they eat it raw? With livers ripped from wandering tourists.

Is that so?

That is completely true ;oP

Tourism is the most important part of our economy. If it wasn't for tourists we would all starve. heh

[quote]people find the work stressful and relive it by drinking.

It can't be that bad if they want to relive it. ;)

A freudian slip?

Any man who worries about what other people think when it comes to what he is drinking doesn't really deserve to use the title "man."

I recommend a thread title change ... any of the following will do:

Mouse Law
Wimp Law
Loser Law
Lemming Law

>>gurls can't make man laws.

No doubt, they only break them ;)

You're completely missing the point here. The original question is: Man Law?

If 3 webmasters set down at a table in a Pub in the afternoon - is it ok for one to order tea?

Of course he can order tea. Of course he could be his "own man" and give a flying fig what everyone else thinks. BUT... Don't be surprised if you're not asked to the Pub next time.

Here's an example that happened to me (true story):

Most of my friends are football (American) fans. Three of my friends are Dallas Cowboy fans. I love the NY Giants. For many years we did a lot of things together, but when it came to watching football, I was told - Dallas Cowboy fans only. And for those of you that don't think I was really their friend, I was in two of their wedding parties (the third guy never got married).

2 Questions:

1. You can get Tea in a bloody Pub?

2. Even if you could get tea in a Pub, why would you want Pub tea?

My two cents...

It's like going to an Ice Cream parlour and ordering a meat pie.

Tea is a vile drink much loved by the lower orders, it tastes like a weak solution of soil and it's one saving grace is that it is a mild diuretic. I wouldn't force feed it to my worst enemy, I wouldn't even wash my underwear in it!

I have hated the stuff since it was forced on me as a child. The concept of drinking tea as an accompaniment to a meal is weird. It makes the food taste bad and after a while you experience feelings of nausea.

I can't believe that anyone actually likes the stuff they just get used to it.

So no a real man doesn't drink tea in a pub or anywhere else. He should dink a nice fizzy water with ice and a slice like the rest of us.

If I were a pub owner and a customer ordered tea I would have to ask them to leave - to make room for money spending / beer swilling / geek talking webmasters who want to party!
