How about you guys? Have you ever experienced this similar case? How do you handle it? How unfair I can't seem to use similar bad words as what I received because I'm working for a highly respected company. But grrrrrrr....
Why do forums allow this kind of stuff? Is there any way that I can do to get even? Say, I report the person who posted it?

I agree with the earlier response: sometimes not replying at all is the most eloquent indication of what you think. Unfortunately it's a tactic I can rarely manage.
(I have to say though, on a couple of occasions where I did stop dead, the person "baiting" me got fired or "left" within a week or so, eg when his boss or mine saw the email exchange...)

I agree with VinceVinceVince - those who post abusive or inflammatory responses in forums thrive on attention.
I agree. There's a creepy guy who emailed in the past who calls himself a journalist but he's really just kind of a kook. He sends out a lot of inflammatory letters and emails to editors, web publishers and authors. I just block his emails, but I can see from the serps that a lot of editors and authors take him seriously and take a lot of time to write rebuttals to his letters and emails.
I just don't understand why people bother taking the time to debate someone like that. Some of them really seem to get worked up over his comments. Yet, they are just giving him the attention he craves and the more they respond to him the more he writes to them and about them on his sites.
I am really sure that it was a negative feedback despite of the absence of the expression or tone that goes with it. I knew it was really bad because there were bad words used.
Good thing I was so busy t foget hitting the 'report...' button. Imagine there was even one who said that his words were GOOD IDEAS. Wow! Words ending in -ucks are now considered as 'good ideas.'
And this is what made me really downhearted, not even one from the moderators answered back to him. Well, no idea if he received any PMs but if this is the case will there be any tendency that his post will be deleted?
Thanks guys. You lifted my spirit.
