TV Licensing Authority now says watching...over broadband.....

Computer users only needed a TV licence if they had a special video card that could receive TV signals.

But the TV Licensing Authority now says watching the BBC's World Cup coverage over broadband will require a licence.

I suppose it's been on the cards for a while, surely a harder one to police that the standard TV?

Albert Einstein said that he was aware of two infinites in this world. These were the universe and human stupidity. Although he was "unsure of the former", my point lies with the latter.

If 98% of households own a license, why the heck should businesses (where these same people work) have to acquire licenses as well? It's like a double charge.

Charges here, taxes there, the payments never cease.

I for one would be happy to pay double the license fee to retain the commercial free, quality television produced by the BBC.

The alternative is Big Brother and the "hundred greatest widgets" ever 24 hours a day.
