Doh!

What's your all time biggest web-blunder?

I just found out that by neglecting to go back and 301 redirect non-www to www pages on a bunch of sites I built [webmasterworld.com] before I found out the importance of such a thing, I was missing out on good chunk of change.

It makes me wonder how many other simple things I'm missing... Care to share one of your biggest fumbles? Who knows, maybe the rest of us will learn something.

My biggest blunder: losing a password and letting a good domain name get away.

Copying and pasting a really good keyword rich article on our website, that was written for us, not realizing that there was a typo. The nice article on gardening contained <an expletive>. Doh!

A reader was shocked and appalled.

Maybe not so big, but certainly a blunder. I was re-writing and testing our wholesale pages, and during that phase I set <meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow">. A couple of weeks after the site went live I discovered my blunder. It could have been worse...

Okay my biggest blunder was to put my adsense ads below the fold. Cost me thousands.

I'm a guy so I know how much fun it is to talk about dirty words. But if Hawkgirl ever found out, we'd all be in a heap-o-trouble.

I posted an article with a misspelled word - "New Jersey" was printed starting with a "J" instead of an "N". Big ooops.
