The results are usually important for that country at least. Well, except for the natural Google bias against France:

.org = World Wide Web Consortium
.uk = Yahoo UK
.au = Sydney Morning Herald
.nz = New Zealand Herald
.eu = Europa - The European Union On-Line
.za = South African Government
.fr = Federal Register (USA)

See cars.msn.co.uk for the following message at the bottom of the screen:

But why?
