Remember that Mills gets 50% of what Paul has earned since they have been together - not his total worth.

So the 300 million is a paltry amount to someone who can't spend it faster than he earns it.

He is supposedly worth $1.5 billion.

Prenup or not - he was never at risk of ruin.

Oh, I thought it was his net worth. So he could likely find the 300 m by rifling through his chesterfield and pockets of his jackets.

since he didn't want a prenup or anything, in a sense he deserved it, otherwise, how much the person will have left is not the issue IMO.

I saw a great "quote" from Paul McCartney in a newspaper yesterday. Saying Heather is a wonderful person, a truly marvelous caring lady and nobody will be able to fill her shoe.

Don't forget that divorce doesn't end the marriage vows, it only changes the legal status of the couple. The vows taken in a wedding specifically pertain to the entire period 'until death do us part' and it is entirely right and proper that having given his wife such a promise that he be expected to uphold it. It doesn't matter what the intention of his wife was when she married him, or the intention behind the divorce.

One more thing - most posts here and articles in the media are assuming that she will take care of the daughter. Is this established fact or just assumption?

Well she's likely to be around longer than Paul, so that would make sense. Also she has no other kids, while he does. But he'll still be able to see the daughter if he wants to.

Does anyone think Paul will get married again?

I heard that truth is not neccesarily a complete defense in UK in such cases? Is that true?

Hmmm, for those of you who think that she would have waved goodbye after a year if she were a gold digger obviously didn't take into account that Paul isn't earning what he used to. She is "legally" entitled to 50% of what he has earned since being with him. Plus, who would leave a celebrity after a year...? Bored of the interviews, etc? No... Building publicity for herself. XD

Anyways, she played it smart. Very smart.

Btw, that doesn't mean think she did, only that it's more logical to wait 4 years and pop one out first. Athough... kids in elementary school have "relationships" longer than that. :P

As a last note, Paul should just give the ~ 300 mill to an assassin ;)
